About Odyssey Spa Kota Kinabalu


The word itself, Odyssey, suggests a poetic journey; a journey into the unknown to seek for a potion of immortality. And quite rightly so. Here one comes to revive the tired body and mind for another spark of life; of a healthier life.

Our Star Treatment

1) The Magic in Pandanus Herbal Drink


It is called the "healing pharmacy" in Malay Language.
It is a tropical screwpine with custard fragrance that is used to flavour rice, desserts, cakes and drinks. It is also used dried as potpourri ad as a cockroach repellent when grown around the house. The fresh leaves are employed in hair washes, skin care and in medicinal bath after child birth.

2) The Magic in Lemongrass Bath
As a medicinal herb, it was traditionally used to cure skin complaints and headaches, and was burnt to kill germs and repel insects. It is famous for its soothing invigorating and antiseptic properties, while the aroma relieves stress. It helps to clear head and soothes hangovers. The leave and roots are boiled and drunk to treat urinary problems and flatulence.
Alternatively, in Borneo, the native women would indulge in this medicinal baths after childbirth. This practice usually lasts for a period of 3 weeks to cleanse the body of toxins accumulated during pregnancy.
Also, bathing in lemongrass water in bath is known to ease join pains.

3) The Magic in Betel Leaf - the healing leaf

Traditionally, it is often used by rural folks to relieve pain in various parts of the body. They believe the leaf will draw the pain away and restore well being in the body. The leaf is warmed first over a candle or fire before application.
Our signature massage incorporates this practice into our massage rituals where is is placed on the "third-eye spot and at four fingers' length above the navel to promote well being in our sinus and digestive systems.
